The Central Bank of Slovenia announced that its Masters of the Digital Future education project has expanded beyond Slovenia for the first time, adding an international debating tournament for secondary school teams from seven European countries. The final followed national qualifying rounds, pitted Slovakia against Slovenia, and ended with the Slovak team winning the debate on whether to introduce a digital euro. Now in its third school year, the project is intended to encourage young people to engage with digitalisation in banking, advanced payment methods and current economic trends. This year's international edition involved the central banks of Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Montenegro and Slovakia, and focused on the euro in the digital age, including the advantages and disadvantages of introducing a digital euro.
