The Central Bank of Chile has invited schools and families to visit its Numismatic Museum in Santiago, highlighting a temporary winter exhibition, "Coin, power and globalization: The journey of the real de a ocho." The exhibition brings together 2,500 colonial-era coins recovered from the seabed after more than 200 years and presents the origins of Chile's monetary system in a historical and global context. The museum's permanent collection covers coins and banknotes from the 16th century to the present. The site is open Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 13:00 with free admission, and the bank has also made virtual tours available online, including the centenary exhibition "Reflections of Chile. A century of the Central Bank," which includes 128 paintings and 257 numismatic items.
