The Montenegro Capital Market Authority, jointly with the Ministry of Finance of Montenegro and the Central Bank of Montenegro, formally opened the third international conference “Montenegro Financial Markets” in Podgorica, positioning it as a regional forum on capital market development and financial market transformation. In opening remarks, Capital Market Authority president Željko Drinčić pointed to progress over the past year, including adoption of six laws to strengthen the regulatory framework, corporate governance, and sustainable finance. The two-day event brought together more than 300 participants from Montenegro, the region and Europe, spanning financial institutions, regulators, academia and the private sector. The agenda includes panels on companies transitioning from private to public status, digital transformation in financial services, sustainable finance, crypto markets, corporate bonds, and the impact of global economic developments on regional markets, with speakers from organisations including IOSCO, the World Bank, IFC, Visa and Bloomberg Adria.
