Guernsey’s Ministry of Finance published an update that the island’s clearing banks have signed an agreement to provide ongoing funding for Guernsey Community Savings (GCS), a local charity supporting people who lack access to essential banking services. The agreement follows negotiations between GCS, the banks and the States of Guernsey, which led the process as a neutral third party. The participating banks include HSBC, Lloyds and RBS International trading as NatWest International. GCS has supported almost 200 islanders since 2020 by arranging access to banking services for those who are financially excluded and helping them manage money and build confidence to participate more fully in society.
