The Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures published its 2026 Status Report, finding that more than 1,000 organizations across 56 countries or areas have issued some level of TNFD-aligned disclosure, twice the number identified in 2025. Another 802 organizations have committed to adopting the recommendations, including financial institutions representing USD 26.6 trillion in assets under management. Average disclosure remained above eight of the 14 recommended disclosures, despite a slight decline, and increased with each successive reporting cycle. More than 70% of over 500 surveyed market participants supported mandatory nature-related reporting requirements, generally favoring introduction within one to three years. All surveyed investors expressed concern about nature loss affecting financial markets, while 56% were exploring or deploying capital into nature-related opportunities and 74% expected such financing to increase twofold to fivefold over the next five years.
