The Brazil Securities Commission (CVM) held the first meeting between its Tokenization Working Group and capital markets associations, entities and self-regulatory organizations to help develop an experimental regulatory regime for tokenized assets. More than 50 participants discussed network infrastructures that could support testing of tokenized asset issuance, trading and post-trade activities. The tests are intended to inform the regulatory model without constraining future technological innovation. The working group’s mandate targets a rule for the experimental regime within 60 days and an activity report within 120 days, extendable by 30 days. The CVM said the group currently has 45 days to submit its report to the Board.
