The Cayman Islands Ministry of Finance and Economic Development has announced that the Economics and Statistics Office began fieldwork on 26 April 2026 for the Spring 2026 Labour Force Survey and Quality of Life Survey. Trained interviewers carrying official identification cards will survey about 2,000 randomly selected households to collect data on employment status and broader living conditions in the Cayman Islands. The Labour Force Survey covers employed and unemployed persons as well as those outside the labour force. The Quality of Life Survey gathers information on life satisfaction, well-being, financial security, economic outlook, social inclusion, community belonging and perceived health. Data collected will be kept confidential under the Statistics Act 2016 Revision, will not be published in individual form or used outside the Economics and Statistics Office, and is exempt from Freedom of Information requests.
