The Bank of the Lao PDR published an update on senior management’s meeting with Eteri Kvintradeze, Head of the International Monetary Fund Capacity Development Office in Thailand (CDOT), focused on progress in implementing CDOT-supported technical assistance programmes and planning for upcoming work. Discussions covered the status of ongoing technical assistance and next steps across the related workstreams. CDOT also introduced two new experts supporting the Bank of the Lao PDR’s programmes, including Amila Wijayawarndhana covering external sector statistics and Yury Achkasov supporting monetary policy implementation work, alongside monetary and foreign exchange policy advisory support. The two sides also discussed preparations for the Bank of the Lao PDR to serve as chair and co-host for the 12th CDOT Advisory Committee Meeting, expected to be held in the Lao PDR in late May 2026.
