The Central Bank of the Republic of San Marino has issued Circular No. 2026-02, updating periodic prudential reporting for banks and extending its scope to financial companies also authorized to provide investment services. The requirements align reporting with changes previously introduced by Regulation No. 2024-05, primarily concerning market risk, settlement risk and related capital adequacy requirements, as part of the gradual transposition of European Union capital requirements standards. The circular replaces and repeals Circular No. 2012-03 in full, reflecting both the scope of the reporting reform and its extension to the affected financial companies. Circular No. 2013-01, covering specialized financial companies, is also repealed because no such companies currently operate. The expanded prudential information requirements also entail a redefinition of the scope of checks entrusted to audit firms under Regulation No. 2015-01. The measure takes effect Oct. 30. The first submission using the new reporting template is due Nov. 30, with a reference date of Sept. 30, 2026. The reporting form and operating manual are already available to affected entities.
