Payments Canada announced one new and six returning member organizations to its Member Advisory Council, effective July 1, 2026. Brim Financial joins the council, while Bank of America, BMO, Central 1, CIBC, JP Morgan and Peoples Trust will continue as members. The council advises Payments Canada’s board on its clearing and settlement systems, how those systems interact with other systems involved in the exchange, clearing or settlement of payments, and the development of new technologies. The designated representatives are Abraham Tachjian for Brim Financial, Leslie Konecny for Bank of America, Rebecca Tascona for BMO, Barclay Hancock for Central 1, Michael Liberty for CIBC, Dougal Middleton for JP Morgan, and Michael Coney for Peoples Trust. Payments Canada said the next annual call for Member Advisory Council nominations will open in early 2027.
