The Brazil Securities Commission has set out its programme for the 13th National Financial Education Week, which runs from 18 to 24 May, outlining a series of public education activities on investing, securitisation, indebtedness and financial anxiety. Alongside the events, the commission will publish a digital leaflet with guidance on protecting elderly investors and will take part in a research project with Fundação Getulio Vargas on whether short videos can influence decision-making and reduce sunk cost and anchoring biases among secondary school students. The CVM agenda includes a financial education opening bell ceremony at B3 on 18 May, followed by online sessions on 19 May on securitisation for small investors and the opportunities and risks for micro and small enterprises, on 20 May on risk, investor profiles and long-term investing, and on 21 May on indebtedness, financial planning and financial anxiety. The investor leaflet will be made available on the Investor Portal for printing and third-party distribution. The research project will cover students from five schools. All online CVM events will be broadcast on the CVM Educacional YouTube channel, either directly or with partners. The official opening of National Financial Education Week is scheduled for 18 May at 14:00 in Brasília and will be streamed live on the Superintendence of Private Insurance YouTube channel.
