The National Securities and Stock Market Commission of Ukraine has approved without comment a draft government order for Ukraine to formally request accession to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development Council Recommendation on Principles of Corporate Governance. The Commission has informed the Cabinet of Ministers of its approval, following its earlier endorsement of the measure as part of a broader set of market decisions. The OECD principles set international standards for shareholder rights, corporate boards, disclosure, transparency and accountability, and serve as a benchmark across OECD and Group of 20 markets. The request continues Ukraine’s corporate governance reforms after the Commission aligned its core standards and Corporate Governance Code with the G20/OECD principles.
