Taiwan’s Ministry of Finance published a statistical bulletin showing that the country’s exports have become increasingly concentrated in technology products. The 10 largest product categories accounted for 80.5% of exports in January to August 2026, up from 62.8% in 2023 and 75.6% in 2025. Automatic data processing machines and units, including servers and graphics cards, became the largest category at 33.5%, narrowly surpassing electronic integrated circuits at 33.1%. Exports of automatic data processing machines rose 87.5% to USD 192.6 billion, while integrated circuit exports increased 47.5% to USD 190.3 billion. The ministry linked the shift to expanded domestic production following the U.S.-China trade war and rising AI and data center demand. Destination exposure was also concentrated: the United States received 62.8% of automatic data processing machine exports, while Mainland China and Hong Kong received 48.4% of integrated circuit exports. ASEAN was a major secondary market for both categories.
