The Isle of Man Financial Services Authority has updated its public warning about SpectraX.Pro, which it describes as a cryptocurrency trading scam being promoted via social media through cryptoalertscam.com/spectrax-platform. The Authority said it has not been able to establish any association between the website and any genuine Isle of Man companies or businesses and, as far as it can ascertain, the website and those behind it are not known to anyone genuinely associated with Isle of Man investment platforms. It also warned that providing the financial services and products promoted would require licensing or registration with the Authority, but SpectraX.Pro and SpectraX Platform are not licensed or registered. The notice highlights the risk of fraud and potential identity theft and sets out common warning signs including unrealistic returns, pressure to act quickly, and requests for additional funds before releasing profits. The Authority advised anyone already dealing with the websites to consider notifying their local police, and encouraged those concerned about potentially unauthorised regulated activity in or from the Isle of Man to contact its Enforcement Division for advice.
