The National Bank of Moldova said in a conference update that Governor Anca Dragu told the Tech Talks 2026 event the central bank is developing an internal artificial intelligence governance framework and an internal AI assistant. The assistant is intended to support rapid access to institutional information, analysis and data processing as part of the bank's SupTech and digital infrastructure initiatives. In the discussion, Dragu highlighted the transformative effect of AI-based technologies on the economy and the financial system, while stressing that their use should remain subject to clear rules, data protection, rigorous risk management and human judgment in decision-making. She also exchanged views with former European Central Bank President Mario Draghi on new technologies, competitiveness and the role of these tools in integration into the European financial market.
