The National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan held a virtual working meeting under the second phase of a US Treasury technical assistance project to review progress in developing the country’s insurance system. The discussion covered monitoring and analysis of work already completed, existing obstacles and possible solutions, with the broader focus on aligning the insurance framework with international standards and strengthening regulatory and supervisory capacity. The National Bank said bilateral cooperation has helped establish key insurance-sector infrastructure through the introduction of modern accounting mechanisms and the regulation of insurance operations with reference to the Insurance Core Principles. International expert Karina Toselli reviewed issues related to the financial reporting of insurance organisations and presented practical recommendations to improve reporting and address current problems. The Deputy Chairman of the National Bank said implementation of the project’s planned activities will continue until 2030.
