The Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency hosted Maria Luís Albuquerque, European Commissioner for Financial Services and the Savings and Investments Union, for talks on priorities and challenges in developing and supervising capital markets, insurance and pension funds, and on implementing current and planned initiatives under the Savings and Investments Union framework. The discussion focused on strengthening the resilience and competitiveness of the European financial system, supporting investment and deepening capital market integration while reflecting national market specificities. Hanfa Board members and supervisory sector heads presented current priorities in non-banking financial sector supervision and experience in implementing the European regulatory framework. Hanfa Board President Ante Žigman highlighted the importance of close cooperation with European institutions and timely implementation of joint initiatives, and underlined the role of proportionality and national specificities in shaping and applying the regulatory framework. The meeting also included representatives from the European Commission Representation in Croatia, the Commissioner’s Cabinet, DG FISMA and the Secretariat-General’s SG REFORM unit.
