The Albania Financial Services Authority announced the successful conclusion of the Annual Conference of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors, hosted in Tirana in cooperation with the IAIS and positioned as a major global forum for the insurance sector. The conference brought together more than 500 participants from over 130 jurisdictions, including supervisory authorities, international financial organisations and insurance companies. In a second-day address, AMF Chief Executive Director Mimoza Kaçi highlighted the authority’s institutional transformation, strengthened supervision and a decade of cooperation with the IAIS, while framing the conference as a venue for dialogue on risks, resilience and supervisory consolidation in insurance markets. The event also featured remarks from Albania’s Prime Minister Edi Rama on the sector’s role in economic development and financial stability, and IAIS Secretary General Jonathan Dixon noted it was the first time the conference had been held in the Balkans; discussions covered regulatory leadership and the need for affordable, accessible and scalable insurance solutions to strengthen financial resilience.
