The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) published a statement noting that the Swedish government has appointed Cecilia Skingsley, currently Head of the BIS Innovation Hub, as County Governor of the County Administrative Board of Stockholm, effective 15 June 2025. The BIS Innovation Hub will be led on an interim basis by Deputy General Manager Andréa M Maechler, and the BIS will announce the recruitment process for Skingsley’s successor in due course. Skingsley has led the BIS Innovation Hub since September 2022. The BIS highlighted that the Hub expanded to seven centres worldwide during her tenure, concluded over 30 projects, launched additional initiatives, and synthesised lessons from its experiments for the wider community of central banks, regulators and supervisors.

The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) announced that Cecilia Skingsley, Head of the BIS Innovation Hub, will become County Governor of Stockholm, effective 15 June 2025. Andréa M Maechler will lead the Hub on an interim basis. Under Skingsley's leadership, the Hub expanded globally and completed over 30 projects.
