The Caribbean Community Secretariat will host a webinar on Sept. 30, 2026, examining financing and de-risking tools that can improve the bankability of renewable energy projects across CARICOM member states. The session will focus on overcoming barriers including small markets, high perceived investment risks, limited concessional finance and constraints on public funding. Sasana Lopez, managing director of financial instruments at RELP, will discuss blended finance, guarantees and risk-sharing instruments, supported by case studies showing how these mechanisms can attract public and private capital and address financing gaps. The webinar will bring together policymakers, financial and development institutions, project developers, investors and international development partners.
