The Portuguese Insurance Regulator announced that it hosted the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority's annual Strategy Day on 27 and 28 May, bringing together the heads of supervisory authorities from across the European Union for strategic discussions. This year's meeting focused on strengthening more coherent and aligned supervision of the insurance and pension funds sector across Europe, in line with EIOPA's strategy towards 2030. The event was attended by EIOPA Chair Petra Hielkema and the other members of EIOPA's Board of Supervisors. On the first day, António Vitorino, former Director-General of the International Organization for Migration and former European Commissioner, spoke on the European perspective in responding to current global challenges. ASF linked the hosting of the meeting to its ongoing contribution to EIOPA's work and to its Strategic Plan 2026-2028 commitment to strengthen the European System of Financial Supervision.
