Claims costs rose 77% to AOA 251.3 billion, lifting the overall loss ratio to 43%, while the sector recorded net income of AOA 46.6 billion and a combined ratio of 75.10%. Pension fund assets under management grew 11% to AOA 1.26 trillion, with participant numbers rising 4% to 68,423. Individual insurance intermediaries more than doubled to 4,963 and generated AOA 408.4 billion, or 71% of total market premiums. Reinsurance cessions increased 18.9% to AOA 173.2 billion, while recoveries from reinsurers totaled AOA 65.1 billion. The regulatory framework expanded through nine standards covering areas including microinsurance, intermediary training, anti-money laundering, market conduct and complaints handling. Consumer complaints increased 16.53% to 712, and the agency intervened directly in 132 disputes, 30.7% more than in 2024.
