The Taiwan Financial Services Commission has launched its 2025 Fintech-Based Thematic Promotion centred on “financial inclusion”, positioning it as a cross-sector programme to spur collaboration between financial institutions and technology companies and expand access to financial services. The campaign spans experience sharing sessions, an innovative proposal competition, support for innovative experimentation, pilot programmes and proof-of-concept projects, and a final showcase. The second-quarter sharing sessions will bring together stakeholders including schools, small and medium-sized enterprises, groups representing older people, persons with disabilities and remote-area communities, alongside financial institutions and fintech firms, to identify practical user needs and develop targeted solutions. A third-quarter competition will invite financial institutions and fintech companies to propose technology-driven inclusion solutions, with entries assessed by a panel of experts, academics, government agencies and non-governmental organisations; selected proposals will receive awards and follow-up support such as consultation for pilot programmes or innovative experimentations. Support for experimentation, pilots and PoCs will continue through resources offered via FintechSpace, including compliance checks and a regulatory clinic, while firms outside FintechSpace can request counselling and advisory meetings with the FSC’s Department of Development and Innovation.
