The Dominican Republic’s Pensions Superintendency reported that pension funds have invested more than DOP 3.5 billion through investment funds to support the development of over 13,000 homes. More than 1,800 units have been completed or are being delivered across several locations, including the National District, Greater Santo Domingo, Santiago and Higüey. The update also highlighted a housing finance arrangement presented at Expo Mercado de Valores 2026. Under an agreement between investment fund manager Pioneer and Banco de Ahorro y Crédito BANFONDESA, pension system members may obtain fixed rate financing for up to 25 years for qualifying projects carrying the viBIENda accreditation. The model uses long term pension capital and capital markets to finance residential construction and expand mortgage options.
