The Insurance State Supervision Service of Georgia announced it will host the Central, Eastern and South-Eastern European Insurance Supervision Initiative (CESEE ISI) regional meeting in Georgia for the first time, convening insurance supervisors from 13 countries. The meeting forms part of the multi-year CESEE ISI cooperation platform aimed at strengthening supervisory cooperation, harmonising regulatory approaches, responding jointly to emerging challenges, and sharing international standards. The event brings together 26 participants from Georgia and regional supervisory agencies, including Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Hungary, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and the Srbska Autonomous Republic. Senior executives from seven agencies are participating, including Peter Braumuller, Managing Director for Insurance and Pension Supervision at the Austrian Financial Market Supervisory Authority, which supported planning for the meeting. Agenda topics include modern approaches to consumer protection, the role of insurance supervisors in crisis situations, supervisory practices and challenges in assessing the suitability of management and supervisory board members, and motor insurance and owners’ liability insurance in the context of preparatory work ahead of market liberalisation.
