The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission announced that David Saltiel will depart the agency effective 4 July 2025, ending his service as Acting Director of the Division of Trading and Markets. Saltiel has served as Acting Director since December 2024 and previously held the role for several months in 2021. His tenure at the SEC included work on equity, fixed-income, Treasury, and derivatives market structure; transparency and disclosure initiatives including amendments to Rule 605; investor protection efforts focused on market manipulation; competition among trading and listing venues; and the use of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence by market participants. He also served as Deputy Director since November 2021 and as Associate Director of the Division’s Office of Analytics and Research since 2016.
