The Bank of Cape Verde reported on a three-day course on corporate governance for financial institutions, organised with the Financial Technology Transfer Agency (ATTF) and held from 30 June to 2 July 2025, to deepen participants’ understanding of governance principles in a financial services environment. The programme covered governance relationships between managers, boards, shareholders, stakeholders and investors, and used examples to examine how governance operates in practice. Topics included the definition of a company, shareholders and directors, control functions and procedures, management oversight and interaction, European Union corporate governance for financial institutions, international governance frameworks, and governance challenges in firms in crisis.
