The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis announced the appointment of Debbie Atuk, Cory Blankenship and Kūhiō Lewis to the Leadership Council of its Center for Indian Country Development (CICD), a research and policy institute focused on advancing the economic self-determination and prosperity of Native nations and Indigenous communities. The new members are Debbie Atuk, Chair of Bering Straits Native Corporation Government Services LLC; Cory Blankenship, Executive Director of NAFOA; and Kūhiō Lewis, Chief Executive Officer of the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement. The Leadership Council advises CICD’s applied research, data tools and policy analysis by helping identify knowledge gaps and impediments to economic opportunity in Native communities, and members are appointed by Minneapolis Fed President Neel Kashkari.
