The Revenue Division of the Brunei Darussalam Ministry of Finance and Economy and the Brunei Darussalam Institute of Certified Public Accountants have opened a two-day Accounting Forum and Exhibition under the theme Redefining the Profession Shaping the Future of Accounting in Brunei Darussalam. In his keynote address, the Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II highlighted the role of the accounting profession in financial integrity, transparency, accountability and sustainable business growth, and urged accountants to use data and artificial intelligence to support business decision-making, risk mitigation, forecasting and strategy. The forum is intended to promote the accounting profession, provide a platform to share views on accounting issues and recent developments, and support networking among stakeholders. The programme includes local and overseas speakers and exhibitions by government agencies, BICPA, accounting firms and other business support providers. About 500 people attended the first day, including business owners, company directors, accounting professionals, students, academics, graduates, job seekers and other stakeholders.
