The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority has published the December 2024 edition of the National Claims and Policies Database statistics, updating market data on professional indemnity and public and product liability insurance. The release provides refreshed policy, claims, Lloyd’s and facility reports drawn from APRA-regulated general insurers and is intended to support analysis of claims trends and developments in the liability insurance market. The database covers policy and claim information on every open, reopened or finalised claim and policy underwritten since 2003 by Australian APRA-regulated general insurers. Published data is privacy masked, while eligible organisations and individuals may request access to unmasked publication data subject to APRA approval and applicable privacy terms and conditions. APRA indicated that the next issue will be the December 2025 edition, scheduled for late 2026.
