The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan held discussions with an International Monetary Fund mission led by Yasser Abdih, focusing on Uzbekistan’s macroeconomic environment, current monetary policy measures and key indicators of the banking system. The talks also covered options to deepen cooperation with the IMF, including potential technical assistance and expert consultations. The IMF delegation included mission experts Koba Gvenetadze, Etibar Jafarov, Alejandro Simone and Galina Kostina. Further meetings are planned with the Central Bank’s deputy chairpersons and relevant departments, alongside additional engagements with ministries, government agencies and commercial banks as part of the mission’s programme.
