The Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a forum at Turan University on financial technologies and protecting consumers from fraud, bringing together financial market experts, industry representatives and students. The event was organised under the Fingramota.kz financial literacy project and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s Global Money Week initiative. The programme covered personal finance management, financial strategy and modern fintech solutions, including approaches to budgeting, saving and making investment decisions. A second thematic session focused on fraud schemes, “dropper” activity and personal data protection, with discussion of how criminals misuse banking technologies, key considerations before taking out microcredit, and ways to avoid excessive debt burden. The forum also presented the work of the National Bank’s Anti-Fraud Center, which is aimed at detecting suspicious financial operations and rapidly blocking them. As part of the event, participants took part in a financial quiz and Fingramota.kz awarded prizes for a financial-quiz video contest, selecting the best submissions from 15 entries for later nationwide display.
