The Brazilian Superintendence of Private Insurance has created an internal working group to review the existing rules for the Open Insurance system and propose improvements to its regulatory framework. The review will cover the assessed outcomes of the governance structure proposal under Circular No. 635 of 20 July 2021, mandatory participation criteria, waiver procedures, accreditation of Customer Order Processing Companies, customer journey certification procedures, system monitoring, and future actions, alongside other related topics the group may add. Work will be organised through two subgroups, one focused on technical and regulatory issues and another on technology and business matters. The group has up to one year to conclude its work, extendable by an additional year with a reasoned justification, and is expected to seek input from industry entities and agents through mechanisms such as public hearings, technical meetings, written consultations, or other tools it defines. A consolidated final report will be submitted to SUSEP’s Board of Directors at the end of the process.
