The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo published an update on a bilateral meeting between Governor Ahmet Ismaili and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission Chief for Kosovo, David Amaglobeli, held on the sidelines of the 2026 Spring Meetings in Washington DC. The talks covered recent macroeconomic and financial developments in Kosovo and progress on the 2026 Article IV consultation staff report. In a discussion also held with Minister Murati in the IMF format, the parties reviewed key macroeconomic and financial-sector indicators presented as supporting the stability and resilience of Kosovo’s financial system. Ismaili reiterated the central bank’s focus on structural reforms, strengthening the regulatory framework, and maintaining financial and macroprudential stability, and highlighted engagement in regional cooperation initiatives including the IMF’s SEETAC technical assistance initiative. Amaglobeli welcomed the cooperation and progress in institutional capacity-building, pointing to the role of IMF technical assistance. Both sides underscored the importance of continuing close cooperation between the IMF and the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo.
