The Central Bank of the UAE and Bank Al-Maghrib co-chaired the Seventh Forum of Central Shariah Authorities, bringing together representatives from several markets to discuss greater harmonization of Shariah standards and convergence among national frameworks. The forum builds on the central banks’ broader cooperation on Islamic finance, supervision and financial technology. Participants considered how central Shariah authorities can coordinate on emerging market issues and support innovative Shariah-compliant products. Technical workshops covered Islamic finance regulation and legislation, as well as the Shariah and regulatory implications of asset tokenization, stablecoins and other advanced financial technologies.
