The Securities and Exchange Commission of Zimbabwe has appointed Commissioner Tichaona Mushambadope as acting chief executive officer, effective 1 May 2026. The move places a sitting member of the SECZim Board of Commissioners in the interim executive role while the commission said appropriate governance arrangements will apply during his tenure in line with applicable corporate governance principles. Mushambadope has served on the board since July 2024. The notice said his focus includes capital market modernization through digital assets, fintech innovation and regulatory transformation. The commission also noted that Grace Berejena, director of policy and market development, had served as acting chief executive officer for the previous six months.
