The Central Bank of Poland published its core inflation indices for March 2025, showing inflation net of food and energy at 3.6% year on year, while headline Consumer Price Index inflation was 4.9%. Other core measures showed inflation excluding administered prices at 3.4% (from 3.5% a month earlier), inflation excluding the most volatile prices at 5.0% (from 4.9%), and the 15% trimmed mean at 4.6% (unchanged). The bank calculates four core indices monthly to help identify inflation drivers and gauge the persistence of price pressures, and notes that the net-of-food-and-energy measure is commonly used in inflation targeting because it is more responsive to monetary policy than food or energy prices.
