The Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions announced that Jing Yang has taken up her role as deputy superintendent for risk, strategy and policy, following the announcement of her appointment in April 2026. She will lead the regulator’s modernization efforts and oversee policy and guideline development, approvals, risk surveillance, strategic planning, enterprise risk management, finance, data and governance functions. Yang joins from the Bank of Canada, where she most recently served as managing director of economic and financial research and previously led the Financial Stability Department. Her experience also includes representing the central bank on the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision and co-chairing its task force on evaluating Basel III.
