The Australian Securities and Investments Commission has published a Companies Auditors Disciplinary Board decision suspending former PKF Brisbane Audit partner Cameron Bradley’s registration as a company auditor from Sept. 15, 2026, until June 30, 2028. The board determined that a three-year suspension was appropriate, taking into account that Bradley voluntarily stepped down as a registered company auditor on July 1, 2025. It also reprimanded him, required undertakings including future peer reviews and additional continuing professional development, and ordered him to pay ASIC’s costs of AUD 93,589. The action concerns three managed investment scheme audits for the financial year ended June 30, 2023. The board found that Bradley failed to obtain sufficient appropriate evidence, exercise professional skepticism and judgment, perform appropriate procedures, and maintain adequate documentation when auditing financial assets representing more than 90% of the schemes’ total assets. It also found that PKF Brisbane Audit should have issued qualified opinions or disclaimers of opinion. The schemes formed part of a complex, multi-tier investment structure whose underlying assets were properties used as disability accommodation under the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
