The State Bank of Vietnam participated in a science and technology, innovation and digital transformation exhibition linked to the first Government Party Committee Congress, presenting the banking sector’s digital transformation and demonstrating new products and services to a government inspection delegation led by the Prime Minister. Deputy Governor Pham Tien Dung joined State Bank of Vietnam departments and the four state-owned commercial banks (VietinBank, BIDV, Vietcombank and Agribank) to highlight solutions including Agribank’s smart service counter using facial recognition and chip-based citizen ID reading for paperless account opening, Vietcombank’s VCB Digibank connection to the Ministry of Public Security’s VNeID digital-signature portal enabling online signature registration in under one minute, BIDV’s BIDV Direct corporate super-app with links to firms’ internal accounting systems to support cash-flow management, and VietinBank’s X01 programme with 108 initiatives across digitisation, data and AI, technology, and people and organisation. The inspection delegation commended the banking sector’s preparation and creativity. The congress and associated exhibition are scheduled to take place at the National Convention Center on 12–13 October.
