The Hong Kong Monetary Authority published a warning that Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited has identified two fraudulent websites impersonating the clearing operator. The sites have no affiliation with Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited or its services. The website fps.money poses as an online payment portal to obtain cardholder names, card numbers, expiration dates and security codes. The website fps-refund.top, including links with additional suffixes, seeks login credentials and directs users to a WhatsApp chat with fraudsters posing as customer service personnel. Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited does not directly provide Faster Payment System services to individuals or ordinarily contact them proactively.
