The Montenegro Capital Market Authority reported that its president, Željko Drinčić, opened the two-day technical workshop “Sustainability Reporting Adoption Roadmaps for Growth and Emerging Markets” in Podgorica, organised by the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) and the World Bank with the authority’s support. The workshop is intended to support participating jurisdictions in preparing national roadmaps for adopting the sustainability reporting standards being developed by the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB). Participants include capital market regulators from North Macedonia, Albania, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Serbia. Drinčić positioned sustainability reporting as a shared responsibility across market participants and highlighted the value of cross-jurisdictional learning as countries work through the key steps and decisions involved in aligning with ISSB standards. The workshop runs on 17-18 September 2025 and forms part of a wider IOSCO and World Bank initiative focused on strengthening sustainability in developing-market financial systems.
