The meeting with Clarien Bank Chief Executive Officer Ian Truran and Chief Banking Officer Simon Van de Weg covered savings options and initiatives to make banking more accessible, including cashless payment options positioned as a lower-cost alternative to traditional credit cards to reduce transaction costs for everyday purchases. The discussion also considered low-interest financing for qualifying households to adopt residential solar solutions, combining affordable loans with streamlined approvals to help reduce energy bills, with the engagement framed as building on the Affordable Bermuda Agenda and a recently announced Digital Finance Pilot.
