Dominican Republic's Pensions Superintendency, SIPEN, held two training sessions at the Directorate General of Internal Taxes that reached more than 165 employees, focusing on how the Dominican Pension System works and how better information can support retirement financial decisions. The sessions covered employee entitlements and recent updates, including complementary pension plans as a voluntary retirement savings tool that can allow early withdrawal under certain conditions, offering affiliates access to pension fund administrator return rates and providing tax-exempt, seizure-protected savings. SIPEN also set up its interactive Conoce Tu Futuro stand to provide personalised guidance and information on individual pension account status. SIPEN positioned the sessions as the start of a wider programme of virtual and in-person training at the tax authority, intended to enable the institution to obtain the Aquí Sabemos de Pensiones seal recognising workplace pension education efforts.
