The National Bank of Georgia reported that its financial technology work has been featured as one of three international case studies in Springer Nature’s book “Tokenization of Money: From Traditional Currencies to Stablecoins,” alongside the National Bank of Kazakhstan and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority. The chapter examines the changing role of central banks in digital finance and covers the National Bank’s fintech strategy, Georgia’s role in the Middle Corridor and its tokenized deposits initiative. The case study describes a strategy focused on modern financial infrastructure, responsible innovation and competition, cross-border cooperation and Georgia’s development as a regional fintech hub. It also profiles the tokenized deposits and certificates of deposit project, which allows financial institutions to test new products in the controlled environment of a regulatory sandbox.
