The Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission reported that Interpol published a red notice against Maria Francesca Tan, chief executive officer of MFT Group of Companies, following the commission’s request. The notice asks law enforcement authorities globally to locate and provisionally arrest Tan pending extradition, surrender or similar legal action in connection with her alleged role in a large-scale fraudulent investment scheme. Tan is subject to a Taguig City arrest warrant for alleged unregistered securities offerings, fraud and acting as an unregistered broker or dealer, including violations linked to the Cybercrime Prevention Act. A Lipa City court also issued a warrant in March 2025 for syndicated estafa, with no bail recommended. Prosecutors indicted Tan and officers of MFT Group and Foundry Ventures I in May 2025 over a scheme that allegedly promised guaranteed returns of 12% to 18% and operated similarly to a Ponzi scheme.
