The Bank of the Lao published an update on a courtesy visit by Luxembourg’s Deputy Ambassador to Lao PDR, Thomas Lammar, to Governor Bounkham Vorachith, focused on bilateral cooperation and technical assistance. Discussions centred on support programmes for training in banking operations, microfinance, sustainable finance and green bonds. The Governor highlighted Luxembourg’s past assistance to Lao PDR and the Bank of the Lao, including work linked to green sustainable finance and capital market development, and noted capacity-building support for central bank staff and Lao commercial banks. Both sides underscored the Lao–Luxembourg cooperation relationship and the intention to further strengthen collaboration.
