The Hong Kong Monetary Authority released the key analytical accounts of the Exchange Fund as of end-June 2026. Foreign assets, which represent the Exchange Fund’s external assets, decreased by HKD 1.0 billion over the month to HKD 3,680.7 billion. The Monetary Base stood at HKD 2,075.0 billion, covering Certificates of Indebtedness, government-issued currency notes and coins in circulation, the balance of the banking system, and Exchange Fund Bills and Notes issued. Claims on Hong Kong’s private sector totaled HKD 409.8 billion, while foreign liabilities amounted to HKD 126.4 billion. The analytical accounts are published in accordance with the International Monetary Fund’s Special Data Dissemination Standard as the Analytical Accounts of the Central Bank.
