The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic has launched a consultation on amendments to its regulations concerning the prevention of criminal financing and money laundering. The changes would align the regulatory framework with Kyrgyz law, Financial Action Task Force standards and recommendations from the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism. The draft would also ensure consistency with the Kyrgyz Code of Offenses and the National Bank’s July 6, 2026 resolution on licensing and regulating specialized financial organizations. Comments are due by Aug. 27, 2026.
