The Danish Financial Supervisory Authority has appointed Jon Hasling Kyed as head of office for supervision of leasing and other financing business, with effect from 2 February. The appointment comes as the authority prepares to build supervisory capacity linked to a forthcoming authorisation regime for certain motor vehicle leasing providers. Kyed joins the role from a position as deputy head of the authority’s IT security and cyber risks office and previously served as deputy head in the payments and financial technology area. The office he will lead is responsible for authorising and supervising providers of motor vehicle leasing, consumer loan companies, crowdfunding service providers and credit service firms, as well as registering credit intermediaries, with work covering ongoing monitoring, reporting, application handling and onsite inspections. The office also holds legislative responsibility for several acts covering motor vehicle leasing providers, consumer loan businesses, credit intermediaries and credit service firms and credit purchasers. A bill implementing the upcoming authorisation scheme for certain motor vehicle leasing providers is expected to complete its parliamentary process in spring 2026 and to enter into force on 1 January 2027.
